Krista Camacho

Since Krista Camacho was in 4th grade she knew she wanted to become a teacher. She would gather up all the kids in the neighborhood and “teach” them in her playroom- full of desks, books, a calendar, and even a behavior sticker chart that her mother had bought her from the local teacher store. Fast forward to college at the University of Santa Cruz she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in History with a minor in Education. She also attended graduate school at UC Santa Cruz where she completed her teaching credential and received her Master’s Degree in Education. It was there that she found her passion for travel and teaching children to read. After graduate school, Mrs. Camacho spent time in Central America – Costa Rica and Panama- teaching English. Overall, Mrs. Camacho has 16 years in education teaching 6th-8th grade Humanities, middle school character education classes, reading intervention classes in grades 3rd-5th, and led various homeschool co-ops while homeschooling her own two children- Diego (10 years old in 5th grade) and Daisy (6 years old in 1st grade). During those years Mrs. Camacho has held various leadership positions such as grade level and department lead, mentor teacher to 1st-year teachers, a member of the Education Committee responsible for creating and implementing curriculum school-wide, and soccer coach. Which all leads her to Julian Charter School where she serves as an Educational Facilitator- assisting our homeschool families.

Mrs. Camacho lives in Oceanside with her husband of 12 years, Dominic Camacho who has been in education for the past 22 years and is currently a principal in Bonsall Unified. The Camachos spend their free time glamping from the beach to the mountains, exploring different parts of Mexico, riding bikes at the beach or dirt bikes in the desert, doing crafts, attending sporting events, and reading lots of books! Mrs. Camacho has led a book club with other mothers for the past 9 years!
