Jennifer Dodds brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for education to her role at Mountain Oaks. Ms. Dodds is a career educator who began teaching in Rancho Santa Fe in the mid-1990s. Over the span of the next few decades, she transitioned through a variety of roles while working at Carlsbad Unified and for a charter school based out of Julian Unified. After substantial growth and a variety of educational experiences, she opened her own preschool/kindergarten in Poway, which she successfully grew and ran for eleven years.
Ms. Dodds holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in education. She has an administrative credential, a single subject social science credential, and CLAD certification. Ms. Dodds believes in actively collaborating with parents, teachers, and the community to create an inclusive and equitable educational experience that prepares children to be both critical thinkers and lifelong learners. Ms. Dodds finds inspiration in the quote, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” She loves to share this inspiration with her students.
In her down time, Ms. Dodds enjoys spending time with her two sons, listening to audiobooks, traveling, photography, exploring new places, and being in nature.
