Mrs. Griesbach has extensive teaching and leadership experience in various settings. Her career launched at SCORE! Learning Inc. where she successfully opened and operated four learning centers in Orange County. She holds a multi-subject and bilingual teaching credential and has taught Spanish to pre-school through eighth grade students in La Jolla and Encinitas. In Encinitas, Mrs. G taught 6th grade and served on the district’s committee to enhance and renovate its GATE program. Prior to joining the JCS Mountain Oaks Team, she was Principal of a small, private, accelerated preschool-8th grade school in Orange County. Then, she joined our PLC Mountain Oaks team and taught 6th-8th grade math and Spanish, while co-leading our academy and helping develop our middle school program. After adopting her first child, RJ, she spent a year working at his Montessori preschool and couldn’t have been more thrilled to return “home” to PLC Mountain Oaks!
Having visited more than 30 countries, Mrs. G is an avid traveler and adventurer and once lived in Santiago, Chile and San Sebastian, Spain, She holds a black belt in Taekwondo, hiked Machu Picchu in Peru, climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa, and ran the Chicago marathon in a heat wave (which she will never do again!).
She lives in Carlsbad with her husband, Fred, a Sage Creek high school math teacher, their son, RJ(5), and daughter Sadie(2). Mrs. G is passionate about math, K-8 schools, and the PLC Mountain Oaks philosophy of education. What she loves most about JCS is watching scholars and families grow over time throughout their journey in our program.
