Kimberly McHugh has been dedicated to the field of education since 2014, when she earned her Master’s in Teaching and began her career as an educator. She holds teaching credentials in both Visual Art and Mild/Moderate Special Education, bringing a unique blend of creativity, compassion, and individualized instruction to her work with students of all ages and learning styles.

Throughout her career, Kimberly has been committed to fostering inclusive, engaging learning environments that help students build confidence, develop new skills, and discover their strengths. She previously served in the Special Education Department at Cathedral Catholic High School, where she supported students with diverse learning needs and collaborated closely with families and colleagues to promote student success. More recently, Kimberly has shared her passion for the arts as an art teacher at Kids by the Sea Preschool and Village Gate Academy in Encinitas, inspiring young learners through hands-on creative experiences that encourage self-expression, curiosity, and imagination.

A lifelong Encinitas resident, Kimberly is proud to serve the community that helped shape her own educational journey. She and her husband are raising their three children in the same coastal community they call home, and she values the strong connections that come from living and working locally. Outside of the classroom, Kimberly enjoys spending time with her family at local parks and beaches, exploring the outdoors, and creating art in her home studio. Her love of education, creativity, and community continues to guide her work and inspire the students and families she serves.
