Tonya Sandoval brings over 27 years of educational experience to students and families. Tonya earned her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies and Master of Arts in Educational Administration from California State University, Bakersfield. 

Tonya recently relocated to North County San Diego with her son and is looking forward to embracing all that her new community has to offer. Throughout her career, she has served in a variety of teaching and leadership roles.  She taught and coached teachers at the primary level for several years and also served as a middle school summer enrichment teacher and high school soccer coach.  

Some of Tonya’s past leadership roles include, student teacher host, “new teacher” mentor, grade level leader, curriculum coach, and administrative designee. Her passion for education has always centered on creating meaningful learning experiences, building strong relationships, and helping students develop confidence, curiosity, perseverance, and a love of learning.

When she is not teaching, Tonya enjoys reading, hiking, and cooking. She also loves exploring new places, volunteering, and spending time outdoors. Her three children, ages 24, 21, and 14, are her favorite people and greatest source of pride and inspiration. At Mountain Oaks, Tonya looks forward to partnering with students and families to create a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment where every child can thrive.
