Carrie Cox is very excited to join the amazing staff and scholars at PLC! Raised by a teacher, Ms. C knew she loved teaching, but there were other things she wanted to try first. After graduating from UC Irvine (ZOT!) with a BA in Psychology, Ms. C worked as a residential counselor in groups home across the country. When she had the opportunity to move to Florida, Ms. C decided to pursue a childhood dream to study marine biology. After completing her BS in Marine Biology from the University of West Florida (Argonauts, Ho!) with a newborn son, Ms. C and her family moved back to Southern California where she decided it was time to settle down and get into the classroom. She earned credentials in multiple subject education, and biological sciences from CSU Long Beach (where they have a shark lab…a SHARK LAB!!!) This will be Ms. C’s eighth year in the classroom after taking time off to raise her family.

​Ms. C loves to run, read, crochet like an old lady, and hang out with loved ones. And coffee… Don’t get her started on coffee…
